Defining the role of the KRAS-variant in cell transformation. Using unique isogenic cell line models, we have  been working to define the fundamental changes  caused by the KRAS-variant, to understand its  powerful impact on human cancer risk and  treatment response. 

Applying other microRNA disrupting mutations to cancer therapy. Defining functional microRNA biologic responses to stress. Based on our novel findings that the microRNA, miR-34,  undergoes  activation through  phosphorylation in response to radiation, we have  been working to dissect the mechanisms behind this extremely exciting insight into differential microRNA regulation.
